nfortunately all solutions provided by a Google search seem not to work for me. 😟
Whats the issue: I cannot figure out how to change the profile picture shown when my Macbook Pro (OS: 10.11 - El Capitan) is on AirDrop.
- Jan 24, 2010 Image conversion with Preview is a simple process: Open the image file you want converted within Preview From the File menu navigate down to 'Save As' (or choose Export) Select the new file format you want the image converted to from the 'Format' drop down list.
- Oct 07, 2019 Automator then will create a converted copy in the same folder as the original HEIC file. Back on the left side of the screen, type 'change type' into the search box and then drag 'Change Type of Images' to the right-hand side of the screen. There is a drop-down here, too. Change that to 'JPEG.'.
- To change a picture's format, open it in the Preview app, then save it in the new format. If pictures look fuzzy, try using larger ones, such as 1024 x 768 pixels. On the right, click the picture you want to use. The desktop immediately changes, so you can see how the picture looks.
The same problem applies to my work's Macbook Air (same OS) AND my iPhone (latest OSX version as well).
Solutions that havent worked:
- changing my iCloud profile picture
- changing my Apple ID profile picture
- changing the icon on Settings > Users
There may be times when you might need to convert an image from one format to another on your Mac, either because of some requirement for a specific format, or to compress batches of images to.
